Wedding Season

This year's wedding season is drawing to a close. Only one left for us. These last two have been an absolute blast. It was a total blast to be out for Jodie's wedding and to hang out with my favorite girls again. This weekend we went out to Tim and Erica's wedding and it too was WAAAAY too much fun. We got a chance to see so many old friends from Bethany. (Even though you never get to talk to as many people as you want or for as long as you want). The only drawback of late is that this weekend marked the fifth time in three months that I was in Saskatoon. Not that I don't love it, but man, I'm pooped. That's a lot of travel. For those of you who didn't get a chance to ask me about my mom at one of these weddings (the blog stalkers come out) - she's doing amazingly well. She has a certain undefeatable spunk about her. I think this whole experience really has given her a whole new lease on life because on Saturday she informed me she was getting a new hairstlye. As in something different than the past 20 years. This is exciting for me folks. I know, sad little life I lead.
Last night SEMA held it's first Cafe Service which touched on the subject of getting clean water to people - specifically the Samaritan's Purse project - Turn on the Tap. Guys - this is a truly remarkable little invention that is doing much to save lives. Check it out. www.samaritanspurse.ca/ourwork/water/ There were lots of people there and I think it was a really great oppurtunity to promote this cause and do something out of the ordinary. Jon and the crew did a great job planning everything.
I will leave you will a few snapshots of what the past little while has been like for me.

It's the Weekend (for me anyway)

I am happy. Quite, actually. And it's all because today I'm flying out to Saskatoon for the lovely Jodie Bushman's wedding. A full week of fun times will be had. I will also be pampering my momma who got out of the hospital last week and is well on her way to recovery. Thanks so much for all your prayers. It's been a crazy last month or so, but now things are starting to level out. Hopefully that means I'll be blogging again. Maybe even cartooning. We'll see.

NEWS

Just to keep you guys updated, my mom had her surgery on Wednesday morning. It went alright. They did what they needed to do. She is still in ICU and might be for a while until they can get her stabilized. This morning she was more alert and could hold a short conversation. She's not out of the woods yet, but we're still hoping and praying. Thanks for all your support. I'll keep you posted.
