Rollercoaster Life

So today I flew back home to visit my mom and help out in any way I could. My mom was scheduled for a triple (?) bypass today, but it got postponed until Wednesday. Thanks for all of you who are praying. It's so tough when you get prepared for something like that and then, oh, no, not enough nurses, better luck next time. We're all going kind of crazy playing this waiting game. I don't know if I should be worried or not, but I'm not really. It's funny, but I really do believe that God is in control of this one and no matter what the outcome - God is still God and I will trust in Him. Do I get the feeling God's hand is in this? Definitely. At the same time the family's emotions are in an emotional blender, God's timed it that Myriam, who's been away in Africa for 10 months, just happens to arrive back in Saskatoon at the same time. So while I'm here being a support for my family, God's provided support for me. Coincidence? More like a God who is bigger than any ideas of my own. Amazing but true tales of a God who is more than able to conquer and more than willing to take us in His arms and carry us.

Okay, I too got sucked into Facebook, but now I will return to my first love.

I apologize to all two of you who faithfully read this blog. But things have been busy - really. This last weekend I was back in Saskatoon for Heather's wonderful wedding. A big sorry goes out again to those I was not able to see, but let me explain. The weekend was filled with many activities such as Bridesmaid dress shopping for a certain J Bush's wedding, wedding rehersals for HW and visiting with family. Actually, it worked out well that this was the weekend I was home as my mom suffered from a heart attack just days before I flew out which allowed me to have a little visit with her in the hospital and not worry from home. You can keep my mom in your prayers as this whole little heart attack thing does get severely amplified by her previous health problems. This is one of those times where I wish I was a little closer to home. Sometimes it seems when it rains, it really pours (like in Saskatoon last Saturday - whew!) My crazy day today was filled with:
1. Off the wall patients + hard patients = having to work overtime
2. Forgetting my coffee in the car and discovering it when I left from work
3. My brand new faux D&G sunglasses breaking (what can you expect for $6?)
4. My coffee cup (not the one in the car) that kept leaking the only day I have ever worn white scrubs
Although, last Friday was worse when:
1. I was a little behind getting to the airport, but I thought "I'll treat myself to Starbucks - I have just enough time" When I realized one sip into my latte that,
2. you can't bring liquids past the security gate. $4.35 down the tubes. To cheer me up they
3. randomly selected me for a full search, including the official pat down and walking around in my bare feet for some reason. Oh yes, and lets pull out all her feminine products from her purse, shall we? No wanting to spend another $4.35 I resigned myself to having airplane coffee (for the 1st time ever). Which, while drinking I
4. spilled all over my borrowed book, white bunnyhug (only one I brought) and jeans (only ones I brought).
Only 4 small tears slid down my face as I tried to remedy this little disaster with three small cocktail napkins and a sympathetic look from my seat mate.
Wow, these last entries have been a little on the sad side, although vaguely amusing. Looking forward to this weekend as Gord and I are going away for a much needed vacation for our anniversary.
A taste of my weekend

The girls as usual. (I warned them I would use these against them)
